Renato A. Reyes, MD, MBA, FACP

Dr. Renato Reyes is a graduate of Cebu Institute of Medicine, one of the premier medical institutions in the Philippines. Since after medical graduation, he has been volunteering for medical missions. The first Gulf War gave him his first exposure to international medical missions. He has since volunteered with other organizations that include the Nuestra Senora Guadalupe Mission clinic in Zamora, Ecuador, and the Bayanihan Clinic in Hawaii, USA. Dr. Reyes has a Master in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of New Mexico, Albuquerque, New Mexico. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine, and a Fellow of the American College of Physicians.
Dr. Reyes is one of the founding members of PMMI.
Maria T. Solis, DMD

Maria T. Solis DMD is a licensed dentist in the Philippines. She volunteered for the Philippine Medical Mission to Saudi Arabia Operation Desert Storm in 1990. She is a devoted wife to an Electrical Engineer and proud mother to two sons who are presently in college. Tess has been actively volunteering and doing medical missions in the Philippines since 2013.
“I volunteer my time and professional skills because I feel better about life and humanity. I find joy in volunteering because I appreciate what I have and sharing it with others. There is no better activity in creating happiness than going out and finding a cause where you can make a difference in someone else’s life. It doesn’t matter what you do – the only thing that is important is that you become proactive and take some kind of action”.
Tess is one of PMMI’s founding members.
Vicente M. de Lima, MD

Dr. de Lima has shown exemplary community involvement thru his continuing medical academic works throughout the Philippine archipelago.
Dr. de Lima is a Consultant at the Life Support Training Center for the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery, University of Santo Tomas, Manila, Philippines. He is a Medical Simulation Instructor at the Stanford University, Palo Alto, California, USA. Dr. de Lima is also a member of the European Society of Emergency Medicine, and a consistent volunteer for various medical missions in the Philippines.

Maria Elena, known to her close friends as Arlene, is a licensed Philippine Medical Technologist and a former volunteer of the Philippine Medical Mission to Saudi Arabia during the first Gulf War. She has lived and worked in Asia, Europe, the Middle East and the United States. This rich cross -experience has honed her proficiency in several languages, skills, versatility and inherent talents.
Aside from PMMI and St. Benedict Parish, she devotes volunteer work with The Little Sisters of the Poor, La Table de Jeanne Marie and volunteer teaching in French and English.
Maria Elena enjoys dancing, gourmet cooking, playing tennis, sailing and travels.
Arlene is also a founding member of PMMI.
Abel Santa Isabel, RN

Abel G. Santa Isabel is a retired RN who worked in the ambulance industry for over 15 years in Los Angeles, CA. He joined PMMI in December 2018. Since then, he remains active and busy doing his part both as board member and volunteer for the organization.
Currently, Abel is busy going around different hospitals in Los Angeles, CA and Las Vegas, NV teaching and training healthcare professionals CPR skills. His goal is to be able to touch more lives and encourage them to make a difference on how to save a life. He is a bonafide CPR Instructor of the American Heart Association. He joined AHA in 2003 and is still actively spreading “save a life” awareness.
His personal goal upon joining PMM is “to train people and help their villages to be able to assemble their own first responders. By doing so, they can be self-reliant saving lives one at a time, no matter how remote their villages are.”
Remedy M. Medina, RMT, CLS

Remedy was born and raised in Navotas, a fishing town north of Manila. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Medical Technology and was a medical volunteer during the 1990 Gulf War in the Middle East. He was an OFW both in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait before eventually migrating to the United States.
His experience growing up in the poverty-stricken neighborhood of Navotas opened his eyes to social inequalities between the rich and the poor. As an expatriate, he saw the plight and the exploitation of the less fortunate Filipino migrant workers in the Middle East. These motivated him to join and become one of the founding members of Providence Mabuhay Mission, Inc.
Ethel Erlinda F. Medina, RN, OD

Dr. Ethel finished her degree of Doctor of Optometry at Centro Escolar University. Before that, she has been volunteering in various medical missions sponsored by their church which was led by her father, the Rev. Samuel Fernandez. She was the grand chaplain & past worthy advisor of the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls which teaches young girls about leadership through community service. They learned about the value of charity and service through their involvement with local & Grand projects.
After two years of working in the Philippines, she decided to work in Kuwait to help support her. There she met her husband, Remedy who also shared the same advocacy as she does. They migrated to the US where she eventually studied nursing.
Presently, Dr. Ethel works as a registered nurse in the Cardio-thoracic ICU unit of the LAC-USC Medical Center. LAC-USC is a teaching hospital, Level-one Trauma Center and the hub in the county-run healthcare system where mostly the poor & underprivileged are served.
Maria Remedios B. Chua-Sy, DMD

Dr. Jhing’s proclivity is geared towards writing articles, producing editorial works and hosting numerous dental events. She is the co-founder & Founding President of Novaliches Dental Professionals Inc (NDPI), an affiliate of the Philippine Dental Association and is also a member of the Board of Directors of Prime Orthodontics Studies & Training Phils (POSTP Inc).
A graduate of Centro Escolar University, Manila, she took up a post-graduate course in Hospital Dentistry & Dental Surgery at the UP-PGH and has fairly recently graduated with a Certificate of Proficiency in Orthodontics from POST Phils, Inc.
She is married to a Public School Teacher and Arnis Grandmaster and is a proud mother to their only child who is a consistent college scholar taking up IT with specialization in Digital Arts.
